Why.

Why does my little sister always have to be a pain in the butt.

She came running up to me, screaming "SISTER, SISTER!  I DON'T KNOW HOW TO CATCH THIS POKEMON!".  I sighed, turning to see my sister bounding into my room.  I turned off my MP3 player to see what she was trying to catch.  It was a Level 4 Shinx.

"Jesus, Molly, why do you need my help catching thi--"

Then I noticed.  It was shiny.  I almost felt like squealing since I had never found a shiny before in my game, but I contained it.  I looked in my sister's bag and noticed she only has 3 pokeballs left.  "Sister, don't I remember you buying twenty Pokeballs before?" I asked.  "YEAH BUT I COULDN'T CATCH THIS THIIIING" she replied, almost breaking my eardrums from screaming.

I caught it with one more Pokeball and then gave it back to my sister.  She proceeded to nickname it "Sparkler" because I let her light one on the 4th of July.

"YAY! I GOT IT!" she squealed.

Months passed, and she eventually got out of the Pokemon fad.  I noticed her Diamond game sitting there on her desk, and I decided to just play it for a while.  She wouldn't care.

Sparkler had evolved into a Luxray, and it was level 100.  I was impressed at how she had gone from asking me to catch a level 4 Shinx to leveling it up to level 100 without any help whatsoever.

More time passed, and I went into high school.  I met new friends and I was one of the more popular kids.  Pokemon was completely out.

My sis, however, decided to sneak a play in while I was in school.  She blew the dust off of her Diamond game and decided to turn it on.

She noticed the last time she played was two years ago.  "Oh gawd!  I thought I was on a little more than this!" she said, her eyes widened in shock.  She clicked "Continue" and memories flooded back to her.  Since she knew that this was the last time she might play this game, she decided to leave a clean slate for the next player who happened to pick up the game.  She started releasing all of her pokemon, one by one, until she got to Sparkler.  She got flooded by more memories, and she felt like she was going to fall over from them.

"I remember this little guy...He helped me throughout the entire game..." She said, almost tearing up at having to let Sparkler go.  But, she knew it was for the best.  She clicked on Sparkler, moved down to the "Release" button, and pressed it, thinking to herself "I regret nothing".

"Why do you want to release me?  Don't you love me?" A text box popped up, saying that message.

My sis dropped the game, being one to get scared easily.  She ran out, got the phone, and called me frantically.

"SISTER, SISTER! COME HOME NOW!" she screamed into the phone, almost killing my ears again.

"Ugh...What do you want this time?" I sighed.  This was the third frantic phonecall I got in the week from her.  And it was only Thursday.

"I CAN'T EXPLAIN JUST COME HOME!" She screamed.

She hung up.

I had a feeling this one was serious.  I rushed back home, to see my little sister curled up in a fetal position in the bathroom.

"Erm...what happened?" I asked nervously.

"Game...game..." she pointed at the other room.

I walked over to the game and almost instantly dropped it.

On the screen was a picture of an obviously neglected Luxray.  It wasn't gory or anything, but it was crying and it was chained up to a wall.  The screen was spamming messages of "DON'T YOU LOVE ME?" "DON'T YOU LOVE ME?" "DON'T YOU LOVE ME?"

I shut off the game.  No dice.

"DON'T YOU LOVE ME?" "DON'T YOU LOVE ME?" "DON'T YOU LOVE ME?"

The game then said something different.

"YOU WORKED SO HARD TO GET ME, YOU HAD LOTS OF FUN ADVENTURES WITH ME.  I HELPED YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR ENTIRE GAME AND NOW YOU'RE LETTING ME GO?  I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME!"

The game electrocuted me, and I passed out.

A few hours later, I awoke to my sister trying to give me CPR.  My instant reaction was "EEEWWWW SIS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

"Sorry...you got electrocuted from the DS...after that it turned off." My sis said.

I couldn't remember the incident because of the shock, but my sister told me I probably didn't want to remember it.  I agreed.

But, I started to see the message "DON'T YOU LOVE ME" everywhere I went: On school posters when it wasn't there, etc.

I was creeped out, but I shrugged it off and decided to ignore it, until one night.

I woke up in the middle of the night, trying to rustle my sister awake.  I kept shaking her but she didn't wake up.  I turned her over.

I was literally scared half to death.

Instead of my sister, there was a Luxray, chained up to each end of the bed.  Its eyes were red from crying, and it still had a tear running down its cheek.

"DON'T YOU LOVE ME?"

I woke up screaming.  It was early in the morning, and I decided to get up and go get myself a cup of coffee.  I opened the fridge, since there was a built-in coffee grinder in there, when I saw a bowl of alphabet soup sitting next to it.

I peered over and looked into it.  The letters spelled a message.

"DON'T YOU LOVE ME?"
